KP Group has been globally recognized by tech giant IBM for its pioneering work in the renewable energy sector. On June 27, 2025, KP Group was featured in IBM’s case study titled “Scaling clean energy with intelligent asset monitoring.” The study, available on IBM’s official website, highlights how KP Group has successfully automated and optimized clean energy operations across more than 70 solar and hybrid sites using IBM Maximo Renewables.
Data-Driven Transformation Through Digital Integration
The heart of KP Group’s transformation lies in its integrated Network Operations Center (NOC), built entirely in-house by its Digital Innovation Team. This sophisticated, vendor-agnostic, microservices-based platform captures five-second telemetry data from wind, solar, and hybrid assets, then normalizes and processes it for real-time decision-making. By automating asset performance monitoring, compliance tracking, and maintenance scheduling, KP Group has eliminated manual data handling, improved responsiveness, and significantly reduced downtime.
Key highlights include:
- Hourly Power BI reporting across 70+ sites, eliminating manual intervention.
- Real-time analytics on over 9,000 PV strings, enabling instant anomaly detection and proactive field alerts.
- CMMS workflows integrated with IBM Maximo, delivering up to 800 kWh/CM work-order efficiency.
- Automated 100% contractual compliance tracking, reducing risks and enhancing client confidence.
Technology Milestones Redefining Operations
Beyond software, KP Group is innovating on the hardware front as well. The company’s water-less robotic cleaning system—featuring 184 autonomous robots—has helped clean 484 MW worth of solar modules across 25 sites. This not only saves approximately 4.81 crore liters of water annually but also reduces OPEX by ₹38.5 lakh. Certified by Nextracker USA, these robots are expected to scale to 5,000 units in the current fiscal year.
The Group has also signed strategic MoUs with Delta Electronics for large-scale BESS projects, green hydrogen hubs, and a national EV charging network. The first phase includes the supply of 1 GW of PV inverters over the next 12 months.
Client-Focused Solutions and AI Innovations
All of KP Group’s CPP/OA clients—over 200 in number—now enjoy live dashboards for monitoring power generation, billing, and compliance in real time. Meanwhile, AI-driven predictive maintenance models built into the NOC are streamlining operations by forecasting issues and optimizing maintenance schedules.
About KP Group
Founded in 1994 by Dr. Faruk G. Patel, KP Group has evolved into a leading name in India’s renewable energy sector. With a mission to drive sustainability, the Group has been instrumental in advancing solar and wind energy adoption nationwide. It is now a trusted partner for corporates aiming to reduce their carbon footprint and align with India’s green energy goals.
Being featured in IBM’s global case study affirms KP Group’s position at the forefront of intelligent energy management. Its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence sets a high benchmark for the renewable energy industry—not just in India, but globally.
