Bangalore, May 28, 2025 — In a bold move set to redefine India’s electric mobility landscape, Ather Energy, a pioneer in electric two-wheelers (E2Ws), has entered into a strategic partnership with Infineon Technologies, a global leader in semiconductor solutions. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Seoul, signaling a powerful collaboration to drive innovation, efficiency, and scalability in India’s rapidly growing EV sector.

Powering the Next-Generation of E-Scooters

The partnership is focused on integrating Infineon’s cutting-edge semiconductor technologies—such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) power solutions, microcontrollers, and automotive-grade sensors—into Ather’s current and future electric scooters. These components will enhance energy efficiency, charging speed, battery life, and system reliability, while keeping manufacturing costs optimized.

“Infineon’s leadership in semiconductors aligns perfectly with Ather’s engineering-led mission. Together, we aim to transform vehicle systems and boost the EV ecosystem across India,” said Swapnil Jain, Executive Director and CTO at Ather Energy.

A Green Vision for India’s EV Future

India’s electric two-wheeler market is expected to dominate EV adoption in the country. According to NITI Aayog, electric two-wheelers could account for 80% of all two-wheeler sales by 2030. With over 3,600 fast chargers deployed across India and neighboring countries, Ather is uniquely positioned to lead this transformation.

“Our energy-efficient semiconductor technologies will help India meet its electrification goals. We’re excited to partner with Ather to shape the future of clean and connected mobility,” stated Peter Schaefer, Executive Vice President at Infineon Technologies.

The collaboration will also explore advancements in vehicle safety, sensing, and data intelligence, further enhancing the user experience and overall EV performance.
