Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has set a new benchmark by commissioning 752 MW of solar projects in the first quarter of FY26. This achievement marks a 112% increase compared to the same period last year, showcasing the company’s rapid growth and commitment to India’s renewable energy goals.
Record-Breaking Performance
TPREL’s Q1 FY26 performance is a testament to its robust execution capabilities. With this addition, TPREL’s total utility-scale operational capacity now stands at 5.6 GW, comprising 4.6 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind energy.
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, TPREL aims to commission an additional 1.7 GW of utility-owned capacity and 1 GW of third-party projects during FY26. By the end of the fiscal year, Tata Power targets a total operational capacity of 7.3 GW, with solar and wind contributing 5.6 GW and 1.7 GW, respectively. These efforts align with India’s national energy security and sustainability objectives, reinforcing Tata Power’s leadership in the clean energy transition.
